I have a 15 gb Maxtor hard drive that reads 1.9gb

I have Maxtor 15gb drive from my old computer a K6 233.When installed in my P4 1.8 it can only read the drive as a 1,99 gb drive,Can i get the other 13gb without formating the drive.
I do sean to have the kiss of death of all things to do with computers.

You are using Win95 16bit filing system. If you get Win98 from click here
Its £69 inc post and vat
You can then use Fat32 and see the full drive

PS if its in a later system you will have to convert using 32bit fat converter

If you havent entered the correct bios settings for your hard drive it can still be used but at whatever config you set it at ie:- 1.99 gig , have you checked your settings and made sure their correct?

When you are loading win 95 onto your system you need to enable large disk support, it should then recognise the rest of your HDD

I feel that you have removed this from a Win95 Fat16 computer and fitted it in a later computer. If you have get the files of that you need if any then fdisk the drive and as said above choose large disc support
