"I dun like it" Linux Suse - How do I uninstall?!

  GibsonSt19 19:42 17 Jan 05

Hi there, installed Linuz Suse on a seperate partition from XP Home, but have decided it's no good for my needs.

How on earth do I get rid of both the Suse O/s and the boot loader?

To remove SUSE you should just delete and format its partition. I'm not sure if Windows will see the partition and let you do this, but there are other software packages available to do that.

From the research I've done, I think that you'll need to create a startup disk for Windows do enable you to boot to DOS rather than straight into Windows. From DOS, you should type "fdisk /mbr"

I haven't actually had to do this, so you might like to wait and see if anyone has more information.

If your XP CD is bootable, get to an XP command prompt and enter the command fixmbr

This command is much better than fdisk /mbr which can be a bit flaky and give you unexpected results. To delete linux, merely remove the partition (using Partition Magic or Ranish Partition Manager if you havn't got PM) and then add a new one formatted FAT32 or NTFS depending on your preference.
