Can someone please help.

I recently installed Microsoft Office 2003 and in Word the I bar changes to the Hourglass about every 10 seconds as though it is refreshing each time. What is causing this and how can I stop it happening?

Try a repair from the help menu.

Thanks Diodorus, I have done what you suggested but the problem still persists.

Try a search for a file called normal.dot and delete it; it is the template that Word uses for a blank page. If deleted, Word will create a new one when it is opened.

You may have to tell Windows to show hidden files.

Sorry Diodorus, that hasn't worked either.

Running out of ideas... sorry :-(

Have you checked about the intervals for autosave?

Autosave was set to 10 minutes and changed to 1 hour, but it made no difference. The I bar still changes to an hourglass and back, every 10 seconds.
