I have a HP Pavillion which came with 256mb of memory, I installed an extra 256mb making a total of 512mb which speeded things up BUT when I run the Belarc Advisor it shows the two memory cards of 256mb but states that only 448mb installed memory. As I appear to have 'lost' 64mb of memory can someone advise me as to how I can recover the 'lost' memory?
Please keep your answers very simple and in plain English as I'm new to computers. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have onboard graphics that would account for 64 MB.

The graphics card is propably 'sharing' the 64mb of memory.

Right click 'my computer' icon and choose 'properties'
