can you up date the hard drive in the humax pvr- 800t and format old hard driver used it in a pc.

To format it must be done within the DVD player not a PC

The reason that hard drives in standalone DVD recorders and Freeview boxes are kept within the range of 20 to 80 GB is because they generate an
appreciable amount of heat. Possibly why Humax have gone for 40GB and not 80GB is due to heat considerations. Now you would not wish to swap the HDD in your PVR for a larger one and end up with an oven would you? Humax UK website. PVR-8000T
