Anyone know about this one....I use AVG 9, Malwarebytes, Defender, Superantispyware and scan regulary.. i.e weekly. Today I updated my copy of A-squared free and ran it...it came up with 4 copies of this in my hosts files...

I use the hosts file from MVPS.org to block unwanted parasites. I notice that the infection is in all hosts files including the download version and zip version..
Is it likely it came with the hosts file I downloaded or more likely I've been infected since..?

If you got the warning from A Squared don't delete it just put it in quarantine.
Not sure if it was the exact same problem that I had but on a squared next update it said they were false positives and restored them.

Yes just checked it was the exact same ones as I received at the weekend from A Squared.
I quarantined them then got word back from a squared the next day saying they were false positives and did I want to restore them. This i did.

Hi,

interesting...why would you want to restore them.?

Ah..! I take it it deletes the files not just the implied infection.

too late for me I deleted them...no problem though I can easily restore.

Thanks for your help.
