HP psc 950 printer error

Is there any trick to get my printer to recognise a compatible colour cartridge?
The present Jettec cartridge has been OK for 12 months ( don't use colour much) and for the last month or so it has decided not to recognise that cartridge. It is still a third full.
Have just replaced it with a new Jettec colour and still the same problem.
Strangely it prints colour OK. It is just the annoying beep beep at the end of a printing job and a constant flashing orange light.
Have re-aligned the old one and cleaned several times.
Re-booted it etc etc with no luck.
Thanks

Many thanks, but I did a google search again
After the third reset by
'Do a reset by pressing and holding the Cancel and Left Arrow while plugging in the power' it appears to have worked.
Well the flashing light is out, but haven't had the courage to do a print job yet in case it comes back. ( You know how it is!).
Anyway I have bookmarked your link for reference.
Thanks for your time.
