HP Printer Drivers

I have a HP Deskjet 690c printer, which used to print both sides of page when connected to a PC with 98se o/s, but which won't do so with XP+sp2!

I've had the experience of going to the HP web site in an effort to update the driver, but end up with a page which says that I have all the drivers I need supplied on the XP Install cd, and then goes on to say "XP provides only the basic drivers" but yet doesn't provide a download link for the more advanced drivers that I need for features, such as printing on both sides of the page.
Is there a way around this?

Don't know if it would work but you could try running the win98 drivers in compatability mode, or at least the software. I had an old scanner when I moved to XP there was no XP driver for it but I got it running using a win 2000 driver in compatability mode.
