hp printer - casing removal ?

I need to remove the casing on an hp 8250 printer to access the pcb which is on the right hand side. Sounds straightforward, release the plastic latches and remove panel but if anyone has managed to do this without breaking any plastic bits I would be very pleased to know how its done. Logically, one would think it would just be necessary to reverse the assembly procedure - if only. Have tried hp helplines (all of them) but brick wall response.
I suppose the same procedure may possibly apply to other hp printer models. I hope I am not being totally thick !
Help will be appreciated.
