HP Photosmart printer 7660 - Problem printing...

Can anyone help please...

I recently purchased a HP Photosmart 7660 printer.

It prints perfectly ok, BUT if i scan something and ask it to print me a copy, it will not work!

My pc comes up with an error message:

'There was an error writing to USB001 for the printer (7600 Series).
There was a problem printing due to an an uknown system error.
Restart windows and then try printing again'.

Thank you!

Sounds like the program you are scanning to is not communicating with the printer.

Can you scan into program you print out of and try that.

This worked for me.

I read in pcadvisor that if you have two or more usb ports being used, a certain amount of memory will be shared between them. If you are using usb port to connect to broadband, for example, then your copmuter will allocate more umph!! to this then your scanner. Try disconnecting other usb plugs you have and scan and print then.

This is just something i read by the way..........but it did work for me.

I am only using 2 usb ports (i.e. the printer and the scanner).

The only way i can print from a scanned image, is to save it to my hard-drive, then ask it to print from it. However...it takes ages to print!

Do you have a copy option on your scanner,or is that what you are using ?
