HP Director & IE7 Beta3

Just in case someone has come across the same bug:

Having done a rebuild of my Computer and reinstall of my system I upgraded to IE7 Beta3, I then found that my HP Director (Scanner Control) software would not start. A search on the Internet revealed that this is a known problem, at least among users, - there is no mention on the Hewlett Packard sites that I could find.

Reverting back to IE6 cured the problem.

Has anyone come across a fix for this behaviour?

It's a shame because I rather like IE7 but it keeps biting me!

I just tried the latest "IE7 Release 1" version with the same result, so back again to IE6!
