I have a HP Deskjet 990cxi printer. It works well except that when printing, on occations, it picks up more than one sheet. I have read the manual and been on the help desk for HP without sucess. What's the answer to the problem?

Take it back and exchange it or buy a new printer?

Thanks for being so construtive Heston. I already have two other printers, I don't need another, thank you.

Due to the paper I think. My HP940 use to sometimes do this. I avoided using the cheapest paper, then made sure the sheets are all free by flicking through with thumb on one edge, IYSWIM. Usually worked. My newer Epson does not seem to have this problem.

The Hick, thanks for your reply. I received an answer from a member of the HP Forum. The paper was not a problem. I was told to take the panel from the rear of the printer, clean the three rubber rollers with alcohol, then rub the rollers gently with a plastic pan scrubber. The printer now works as it should. This procedure may be of help to any owners of the printer.
