HP Deskjet 5552

Hi there

My parents have just been given a printer [HP Deskjet 5552]. There was no installation disc but I have managed to install it having downloaded a driver from the internet.

Both cartridges feel heavy as though they are fairly full but it will only print in black. I have found a document on the internet for the 5550 series of printers. This shows how to check the ink level for 5550 and 5551 by right clicking on the taskbar printer icon then opening HP Deskjet 5550 Series Toolbox. It doesn’t mention 5552 and we have no taskbar icon to try this.

I just wondered if anyone could help as I cannot find any way to open the HP Toolbox.
Thanks
KJ

Thanks Recap, I will try that and hope I can then find a way to check the ink levels.
Thanks

I don't know the 5550 series, but I do have an HP Deskjet, and when I installed the driver it placed a folder on the desktop called HP Solutions Center. Do you have anything like that? I go to Settings > print settings > printer toolbox. Sorry if this doesn't help.

OK - recap's solution is probably the way to go

If this is a very old printer you may need to load Colour and B/W printer drivers, There may also be a lever on the printer to change the above

Thanks Woodchip, I will check when I am next at my parents.
Thanks for your help

Hi Sea Urchin
I will check but there is certainly no icon on the desktop.
Thanks

Yes, I think you would have only downloaded the driver without accompanying software, but recap's suggested site should put that right.
