HP 940C printer

On the 940C, does anyone know if it is possible to print in black only, at best quality, onto photo-quality paper? I want to print some old black and white photos I have scanned in, and if on 'best' and 'photo-quality', it won't let me select the button for 'black only' in the set-up area. it seems I can only select 'black only' for 'normal'and 'best' printing to inkjet paper, then get streaks even in 'best' mode. I feel it may just be not possible. Any ideas, please?!

You should not need to choose black only as a colour printer driver should recognise and just use black ink if that's all it see's just as if it was text but at best mode. My Epson 680 does
