HP 4500 printer 'prints' a blank page before the one I want

Thought it may be a separator but none is selected. It is a particular problem if printing a doc with a coloured background which wastes a lot of ink painting the unwanted sheet. It also wastes a sheet if printing on glossy paper. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Ah - it may be one of HP's clever printers together with your document.

Check your document and printer are set to the same paper size, and that the document is the correct length and has not got a blank page at the bottom (or a page break). Some HP printers print in reverse page order so that the stack is the correct way round when you pick it up so any blank page at the bottom becomes the top page when printed.

In Devices & Printers - right click on Printer - Printer Properties - Security Tab - Give yourself FULL permissions.
