How to use lcd as monitor

We've ended up with a Philips LCD 26" tv which we'd like to hook up as a pc monitor. I've looked at various cables online, done searches for pc to tv cables but none seem to be correct. The connection on the tv is wider than the pc monitor connector. I've even looked on the Philips site but can't find the right one.
Any clues?

What is the exact Make/Model of TV and also what PC?

We also need to know a bit more about the PC - is it Laptop or Desktop, does it have a Graphics/Video card or is it on-board graphics, does it have a Sound card, or on-board sound, what OS is it Vista/XP/etc ....

If you are not sure about the details, you can download and run Belarc Advisor, print it out and you will have all the information about the PC.

Sounds like you may need a digital to VGA adaptor, but as Technotiger has posted, need to know make, model of the TV, and your PCs graphics ability.

The model is Philips 26PF4310 26"LCD and pc is Dell Dimension with onboard graphics and sound. OS is xp home.

Ok, but need to know what inputs you have on the TV.

VGA to VGA would be my guess, but cannot find the tv online for tec. specs.

It has DVI click here

If your PC doesn't have a DVI output then you will need a converter from VGA.

Yep, confirmed, DVI to VGA is required.
