How tweak GeForce 2 brightness?

Hi, a few of my games are very dark on the monitor screen even at max monitor brightness and contrast, but I think I once heard that my NVIDIA GeForce 2 settings can be tweaked to get a brighter picture?..
But I can't figure out how to do this because I can't find the NVIDIA folder anywhere on my system, even the "find file" routine can't find it, so I can't get into it to tweak..
It's definitely installed because my game progs auto-detect it, but I just can't see it.
I'm Win XP.

You should have the nVidia (Desktop?) Manager listed in Control Panel.

...or by right clicking the Destop>Properties>Settings>Advanced IIRC - it's a while since I had an nVidia graphics card.
