How toInstall Software for earlier Windows into XP

A friend of mine has just got a new Medion PC with Windows XP. He used to have a Gateway with Windows 98. He wanted to install a software which was for Windows 98 and he found he could not do so.

I remember that when had bought some software which Windows 98 or Windows 2000, I remember the vendor taught me how to make a few 'clicks' on the PC to allow me to install software for earlier versions of Windows (eg Windows 98, 2000)
into Windows XP. However, I have forgotten how to do it now.

If someone knows how to do it, can you let me know again please? I would like to help my friend if possible.

If you go to Programs>Accessories you'll find a Program Compatability Mode wizard.

Your friend must also be logged on as the Administrator or, in effect, sole user to install software on XP.
