How to "select" OS (Dual boot) from Vista to XP

  KorgY 15:33 30 Sep 08

Got XP Pro (32) and Vista 64 Premium in dual boot fashion.

On boot up, i see Windows XP (Older version of windows) then Vista at the bottum (3 second time lapse). Although Vista is at the bittum, it boots from that, but would like to have it boot from XP. How do I do that?, I looked in Msconfig/Boot.ini, but the "Move up" (for OS) is "Greyed out", so can't seem to adjust it.

Thank you very much for replies

Ordinarily, you move the up/down arrows to select the OS but you must have messed something up.

Install VistaBootPro to handle the booting click here

Download EasyBCD from click here, that will do exactly what your asking, its under add/remove entries.

Thanks for both the replies.

Can't download that file "EasyBCD" at all, as it only reaches 1kb d/l speed if that - then cuts off.

The Vista boot pro did the job wonderfully, and thank you very much for that BurrWalnut. Not sure if my system's messed or not, as seems to be working ok. However, at the end of the day I think Windows XP seems to be my happier OS, but nice to know I can Crank up Vista should I want to (may do a fresh install of Vista...
