Turn off your machine and restart in MS-DOS, then type SCANREG/RESTORE

Choose from one and hit enter.

Reboot your computer and keep pressing F8 until you get to the Windows 98 boot menu. choose SAFE MODE COMMAND PROMPT ONLY and press Enter.
When you get to the C:\ prompt type in

cd c:\windows\command and press Enter.

Once there type in

scanreg /restore and press Enter.

The registry checker will come up with a list of five backed-up registries and their corresponding backup dates.

Choose the date that is nearest to the date before the problem occurred, press Enter and Registry will be restored.

1. Thank-you I'll try it.

2. I wish I hadn't asked, as a couple of morons have posted the most inane responses..

Any of the above would of done.....
