How to restore a computre to its factory setting's

Hey everybody,

Basicly how do you restore a computer to it's compleat factory settings, system restore and orginal windows CD are out of the question.

Please help Mum & Dad getting cranky

The first thing to do is dig out the computer's manual.

Some PCs and laptops have a separate HDD partition with all the necessary software to allow you to restore to factory settings.

But not all PCs or laptops have this option.

Look at the manual, wherein it will tell you if this option is available on your PC.

Have a look in disc management for a recovery/restore partition.

Assuming XP

Start / Right click My Computer / Manage / Disc Management now look at Disk 0 for the partition.

or try tapping F11 or maybe F10 on startup,this may load a restore partition if one exists.

What make and model is the pc ?

Bios ?

Can you explain please.Ive never seen a recovery/restore program running from the bios and cannot see how this would work.

Or do you mean you have loaded the factory default bios settings ?
