I have a new home PC with Vista. Hard drive is in 2 partitions C and D.
Music folder is by default in drive C. How can I redirect this folder to be in drive D ?

Right click on Music from start menu, select properties then Location tab and browse to where you want it stored.

Dont forget to hit OK after choosing location.

Will that move the existing files there or just create a new folder.

It will move them, you do same with Pictures, Documents etc.

I did move the music. But then Drive D came up as a file in my User Start Menu folder. Couldn't reverse process so copied all music files and puthem back in D in a new folder I labelled as MUSIC. however right clicking on this folder it doesn't have the LOCATION tab that was there in the original set up.

I'm lost !!

Sorry I meant I've put them back in C drive.
C > Users > My Name > Music which has lost the location tab.

Try a System Restore back to before you changed anything, you should then be able to try again as above.
