I use a Linksys WRT54G router. To access the router, open your internet browser and enter 192.168.1.1 as the URL. The router should ask you for a user name and password. Leave the user name blank and the Linksys default password is admin (lower case). You MUST change this. To do so, click on the Administration tab and you can enter the new password on that screen. Save the changes, and you're done.
Good luck.

I should add that merely changing the router password does not offer much security protection. Linksys routers are not very secure when running in default setup. Check out the May 2006 PCA for good article on wireless security and general PC security. As a minimum, I would change the SSID and disable it's broadcast. Also consider setting up WPA encryption. Probably need to read the manual (such as it is) for help or post again.
