how to plug in USB on mobo

Got a Lucky star K7V133 ( cannot find a mobo manual anywhere and am not suprised given the reviews/views I've read about it lol). I put it into a new case, with two front panel USB ports. They each have wires ending in two plugs FIRST: VCC1(red), USB1-(white), USB1 + (green)SECOND: 1.GND(black).
The second set of wires same but with VCC2 and 2.GND. On the mobo there is a set two rows of 5 pins labelled "USB2" . At one end there is a number at end of each row :9 and 10 respectively.
Is it essential to have the mobo manual to insert plugs in correct position or is this generic? Trouble isthere 5pins in each row and the two plugs for each USB port having 3 and 1 "holes". Be very grateful for any advice. Would be great to enable the front ports.

Find pin 1. then in a straight line.

r w g b

1 2 3 4 5

. . . . .

. . . .

1 2 3 4

r w g b

red to 1

white to 2

green to 3

black to 4

rule of thumb from pin 1

red - light - dark - black

as above red pin to pin 1

The pins are actually like this: ( good idea Jim)
.....10
..... 9
So I assume that it goes 2 4 6 8 10
1 3 5 7 9
??
Each port has a 3-pin female ( RWG) plug and a single pin female black.
I therefore ignore 9 and 10?
Apologies for delay......

can't get the same layout, Jim!
If i start at pin 1 and continue in a line, 1=red, 3=white, 5=green, 7=black??

Is your layout as follows
9 **** 1
10 ***** 2

then 1 - VCC red 2 - VCC red
3 - USB1 minus 4 - USB2 minus
5 - USB1 plus 6 - USB2 plus
7 - GND black 8 - GND black
there is no pin at 9 and 10 is usually free
the USB minus & plus are sometimes lablled Data+
and Data-

lol.
Thanks very much. All's well. I was reticent because a much earlier thread stated to ignore pins 1 and 2.....and a blow-out of the riser? Not in my case. Onwards and upwards thanks to the help. Thakns, Kalb for reinforcing/clarifying for me. Now, the firewire....
