How much RAM?

Hello,my system is Viglen CONTENDER VIG501S 00:0C:6E:95:DE:66
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4B533VM REV 1.xx
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. ASUS P4B533-VM ACPI BIOS Revision 1008 03/14/2003
and I have XP Pro SP2,can anyone please tell me the maximum amount of RAM I can fit?Currently there is one strip of pc2700 DDR 256MB(single-sided).

Run Crucial's scanner, it's safe and willl tell you. click here

According to Crucial click here, the maximum you can install is 2G, but I doubt that you will see much improvement above 1G.

Yes your board will take up to 2GB as said by Gongoozler.

If you install a gig of ram,you will see a vast improvement over your current 256MB.

At the moment your current ram is working backward compatible.
Supported RAM Speed: PC2100, PC1600 for your board.

Though do use Crucial as advised by anskyber,they guarantee there ram or money back.

So many outlets that sell ram but this may turn out to be non-compatible with your board.
