I have got the following:

AdAware
a squared
ccleaner
spybot
spywareblaster
windows defender

Can I realisticaly just go with AdAware, Spybot and spywareBlaster? This is in addition to AVG free and McAfee firewall

Lots of different views on this but in principle yes you can. Spybot will do quite a bit more than just spyware cleaning it can if you so wish deal with eg cookie management.

I tend to use other scanners on odd and relatively rare occasions so leaving them on your PC and not getting too worried about regular use may be the answer. They are always there if you need them.

I think Anskybar is spot on, Just leave them on computer and use them when you think they are needed,

Of the ones you've listed I'd keep Spywareblaster as a blocker and Windows Defender as real time protection with scanner. Keep Adaware or Spybot as a back up if you want.
CCcleaner is more a junk cleaner so doesn't really count as a spyware utility and I'd definitely keep that too.
