How many Firewalls?

I have Win XP Home SP2 and use Zone Alarm for my firewall.
Should I switch off the Windows firewall?
(I read somewhere that one firewall per computer is enough).

Yes switch off the Windows firewall. You don't need two firewalls (ZoneAlarm is probably better than Windows Xp firewall).

Even if you get them both to work together and then you have connection/update problems, you will then have to work out which firewall was causing the problem - twice the headache.

If you have Zonealarm it prbably already has switched off the windows firewall.

You can have two firewalls
one hardware in your router and one software on your PC.

As Fruitbat has said I would think Zone Alarm has switched the windows one off.

You can't have 2 software firewalls running at the same time. Well you could I suppose but lets say it would cause major problems not connecting etc.

Its the same as having 2 anti virus programs, if you had 2 AVs they would conflict and stop each other from working properly.

Check the windows one is off but if you can connect ok I would suspect its already off.
