how to make pdf files password protected

My system configuration includes Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz E4400 Processor, Intel D945GCPE motherboard, 160 GB Seagate HDD, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, LG DVD Writer and OS is windows Xp Professional SP2.

I want to make pdf files password protected so that nobody can open them without entering passwords. But, I do not know how to set password for pdf files. I am using Adobe Reader 7.0 for pdf files.

Kindly run to help who needs your help.

You need a full version of software - not just the reader - otherwise you cannot change the file. However, there are plenty of pdf creators around apart from Acobat (some free, but not all will allow password protection) i.e.
