How to improve my computer's specifications?

I need to improve my pc's specs but I'm not looking to spend much on it. My current specifications are:

OS: Windows XP professional (5.1, build 2600) Model: Compaq-Presario KT477AA-ACJ SG3430IL BIOS: Phoenix- AwardBios v6.00PG Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 @ 1.80GHz Memory: 2GB ram Display: Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family Chip Type: Intel GMA 3100 DAC Type: Internal Total memory: 128 MB

Update to Win7 if all your programs will run on it.

There are not really any cheap upgrades that will give you any real boost apart from another 2GB RAM perhaps.

I dont have any graphic card other than the internal one which is 128mb its a Compaq Presario SG3430IL

Any chance you could post exactly the model of your Compaq Presario as until I can see the specs for myself it is difficult to help.
