okay, so i know next to nothing about computers. i need help, all in laymen terms please!!! so i have windows xp i believe from 2005. my wireless router was suppied by verizon and is an actiontec mi424wr, my connection wizard calls it a realtek rtl8139 family pci fast ethernet nic. i want to get my wii online. i have tried to set it up several times with no luck! i keep getting 5 digit error codes. i think maybe i need to change the broadcasting channel or something like that. i have no idea what that means or how to do it, so i guess that is where i need to start. thank you in advance!!!

This is from Nintendo Customer Service

Change the channel that your router broadcasts on.
By default, most routers broadcast on channel 6. Change your router's channel setting to 1 or 11, as those do not overlap with other channels. Router "Channel" settings are typically found in the "Wireless Settings" area of your wireless router's setup utility.
