How to get Firefox to recognise hxxp

When i use IE and i click on a hyperlink from a website that is displayed hxxp://,IE automatically changes the xx to tt but i cant seem to get firefox to do this,it just says it cannot find the site unless i change it manually.Is there a setting in firefox i need to alter to get it to recognise the site?

That looks like quite a nifty add on,ill certainly try it and see if it actually works,its a pity Firefox doesnt do this automatically tho like IE.
