How to format external hard drive to EXT3 in Vista

I have a Western Digital Passport Essential 500gb hard drive that i have formatted to FAT32 (from NTFS) and partitioned.

I now want to format one of the partitions to EXT3.

I'm running Vista.

How do i go about doing this? I know that EXT3 is a Linux format and that i'm likely to need some programme or other. What's the most straight forward way of formatting?

I'm not that familiar with running Linux but |I would imagine that if you ran a live disk version you would have the oportunity to format from thaere.

Sorry for the typos!

You could run Linux Puppy (only about 125 mB) on CD and do it from there.
