Have been given a damaged LG Flatron 17" TFT screen which was damaged by banging on the screen in a house move. Most of the top half of the screen is unreadable and distorted.

Does anyone have any weblinks to a good intruction page for repairing TFT screens and wonder if I can find out if its repairable kind of thing.

luckily its a freebie but it would be handy for my kids machine to have away from a CRT.

As with pretty well all small electronics.

'No user servicable parts inside'
used to be affixed to such items.
and they meant it.

I have heard a few years ago a of TFTs being repaired but it the parts and knowing which parts to replace. As its time and money then suppose bin it is better option so I give in.
