how to find out whats taking up hard drive

I want to find out what i've got on my HD i have tried the 'my computer' way but it doesn't add up to the space actually used, 35GB out of 40GB.

I've just been hunting thru the lists on another forum,as I d/l exactly what you require recently only I'm blowed if I can find the file on my PC or the thread where I got it from.Its freeware too.Will ask around the other forum later when they've got home from work.

Out of a 40 gig drive when formated goes to about
35/6 gig so if it showing 35 it may be right.

I think that maybe on the low side. Just over
38 gigs, I would of thought.

If you are using XP, also include the size of system restore in your calculations. On a 40 gig hard drive, it will take up around 4 to 4.5gig of hard drive space.
