How file and folder encryption work in DDPE?

I tried to download and install DDPE from click here does some processing while I turn on the system. But the Data Protection Home Window says that, none of my storage drives are provisioned for protection. Current Settings tab in advanced settings say,"user not activated". I can encrypt files and folder by right clicking and choosing "Encrypt for sharing". If I encrypt a file/folder named fileName, an executable named fileName_enc.exe is created in the same directory. This can be copied and decrypted from any other PC by providing the password. I couldnot find anything about this type of encryption while going through dell documentation. Is this executable file the correct encrypted output? If anyone uses file and folder encryption feature of DDPE, please reply.

Haven't got a Dell but does this help Dell Data Protection link to guides?
