You can try Windows Easy Transfer click here to do this. G

The Vista to Win7 equivalent is at click here.

Note that in order for WET to work, both the previous & new OSes must be the same type in terms of 32 & 64-bit. G

I have Windows 7 on my old drive as well. But I have been advised to change my new drive to the 64 bit version as it will go faster. As it is 32bit on my 'faulty' drive, WET will not work!Any other ideas please?

Well, just had a closer look, and it states:

"Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-bit version of Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows."

But you're setup is the reverse - 32-bit to 64-bit - so it might work. Worth a try I suppose. G
