How do i see if xp firewall is switched on?

I am told that windows xp has a built in firewall? If so how can i see if it is switched on? I have been using Norton antivirus 2003 and sygate for my firewall but sygate was causing me so many problems that i have had to uninstall. I am on broadband so will Norton Antivirus 2003 and xp firewall be enough?

Control Panel, Network Connections, right click connection, Properties, Advanced tab.

I've been told that XP's firewall is adequate but that another more 'thorough' one shoud be installed. Go to click here and install their free ZoneAlarm - apparently it's very good

Thanks for replys. I turned it on and then restarted the machine and had a look to see if it was still on and it was off??
