How do I remove a search box from my IE Toolbar 11:33 01 Oct 09

I am running IE 8 and Vista. I also have the google toolbar loaded. In the top right hand corner there is a search box (not google) which is grey in colour and says "Search" if you click on it it turns white but nothing happens when you enetr data and hit search. I use the google serach bar (underneath far left). How do I remove the serach box that I don't want? I've tried tools and right clicking and going to properties etc.
Thanks! 12:40 01 Oct 09

Download this program to your desktop (IESearchBarRemove) and then double-click to run it. You then have the options to Show or Hide the search bar - click and Apply. You may need to Log Off and on again to make it work.

Thanks for that link.

I normally use Firefox, but need to use IE for my company intranet site and that search box always niggled me. Now it's gone... thankfully. 11:36 02 Oct 09

Sea Urchin- When you say log off do you mean the whole computer or just IE? (If just IE then it hasn't worked for me:(

Log Off from the computer

Save the download to your desktop, then close IE.

Then run the downloaded program.

When you re-start IE, the Search pane will be no more. 14:12 02 Oct 09
