I've checked Windows Update and there are no updates available.

Under system info it tells me I have SP2.

So why does everyone seem to downloading sp3 other than me?!!

My Compuer>Properties>General tab. SP3 will be listed as Service Pack 3 only or, as buteman states, it will be listed in Add/Remove Programs.

so how come everyone else seems to be downloading it?

  brundle 16:13 11 May 08

Using RegEdit, go to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate - make sure there's not an entry named DoNotAllowSP. If there is, delete it and reboot.

Start menu, run, type WinVer is another way, in answer to your original question

Full download from MS;

Make a backup of your system, some people have reported an endless reboot cycle after installing SP3. Had no such problems myself, on 5 systems so far.
