how do i know if its my grafix card

iv started up my 2nd,old pc and when i turn it on a message comes up on the monitor saying no signal,this has happend befor and the grafix card was loose. im 90% shore the card is dead but is there any wat i can tell without spending £40 for a new one.

take the card out, clean the contacts and firmly (but not too much) reseat it back in place.

Do you have an onboard graphics you can use if you remove the card? You'll to remove the card and enable the onboard graphics in BIOS.

Does the pc not beep when you turn it on?then depending on your bios Award or AMI they should give you an indication of what is wrong

I had a similar problem. See click here During my investigations I received "no signal" notification when the monitor cable was disconnected , so I suggest you check that the lead is firmly attached.
