You will need a copy of the sata drivers for your motherboard on a floppy disc. click here

Hope this helps.

What if you don't have a floppy drive?

When XP came out almost every pc had a floppy drive, but this does'nt answer your question.

If you do a search there is a way of slipstreaming and making a bootable XP CD, to include the sata drivers. click here

my windows xp laptop that i purchased many years ago have a SATA drive, im not sure if this is revelant but it has always installed SP1 even from a disk and has never needed drivers, how do you know it needs drivers anyway?

are you connecting the SATA drive with SATA cable or USB?
