How do I get dial-up connector to show

  JCT 15:58 02 Dec 05

Hi, folks,
Excuse me for being thick, but I'm playing with a new laptop that's got XP Home.

When I open Outlook Express, I get an error message saying it can't find a connection. I have to go to Control Panel or whatever, find my Dial-up connection, and tell it to connect. Only then can I do a send/receive in OE.

What do I have to do to sort myself out?

From previous experience, I know someone will help, and thank them in advance.

Go to the dial up connection, right click on it, and there should be an option to send a shortcut (or create) to the desktop

Have you noticed on the Options, Dial Up tab you can make Outlook Express automatically connect to the Internet at startup

Control panel > Internet Options > Connections.

Put a dot next to "always dial my default connection"

Thanks folks - I'm a bit thick at times.
Sorry about delay in acknowledging - just gone through the upheaval of moving house.
