my new computer has a usb2.0 controller which apparently has two ports, however there are 4 ports on the back and i'm not sure which are the 2.0 ports and which are the 1.1 ports. i would obviously like to be able to connect my zip drive to a 2.0 port, any idea about how i can find out which is which? cheers, jim

As far as my understanding goes, unless your zip drive is also USB2, it wont matter which USB port you plug into as your speed is limited by the USB1 of the device.

If your device is USB2 and you plug it into a USB1 port, winxp (not sure what OS you use) will pop up a message telling you "how to resolve the problem"

If you plug in & get no message, it's a good bet that it's USB2
