How do i find my IDE driver

  LALAS 21:17 13 Jun 08

I am having problems after changing my motheroard and XP has taken exception to this (BSOD 0x0000007b)

One of the remedies is to complete a repair install and specify 3rd party IDE drivers during installation by loading them via floppy. I have the driver CD that came with the motherboard what do I need to look for and so I simply stick it on the Floppy?

XP has taken exception to this! it will do as you have changed the board so you will need to reactivate XP, IDE drivers are on the CD you get with the board or XP will load generic ones

the problem is i need to get the driver on a floppy to boot during setup and i dont know what the file name will be on the CD or whether I just need to copy to a floppy

Its the Sata Drivers you need, As it looks like you have Sata Hard Drives if it will not boot. but they are on the cd check folders on the cd

Sorry it is an IDE HDD not sata

Then you could try starting with your XP cd and run repair

As Woodchip says, you should not need the drivers yet as xp will install the generic drivers...then you can load the driver and utilities disc.

Check your connections to the mobo and drive itself.Maybe swap out the ide cables for newer ones.
