How do I delete old wallpaper

  PhiltheFragger 10:33 12 Dec 05

I have a Win ME PC and some joker put a rival football team picture as the desktop, I have replaced it, but it still shows for a few seconds on startup & shutdown.

Have removed Temp Internet files and Windows Temp files, it does not appear in My Pics.

Any ideas

The picture must be stored in a folder on your hard drive somewhere. I think you need to search for it and delete it. The problem will be that you don't know the name or file format, although it will almost certainly be a jpg file.

If I remember rightly, if you now choose a new Desktop Wallpaper and OK it,reboot, and then another and OK and reboot. You will find your boot screen is now you old desktop. Then choose the Desktop you want to keep

Sometimes a picture can be used to replace the backround colour that lies beneath the wallpaper.

I'm afraid I can't remember the settings for it in Me.

If it was done recently try using system restore to reset things.
