How do I create this "network"

I want to access my email & internet independantly of my PC. I could buy/build another PC, but this would take up a lot of space. I could buy a low spec laptop, but this is relatively expensive. I have heard that I could buy/build a micro tower and "network" my existing monitor, mouse, keyboard & printer to it. Is this possible, bearing in mind that I want complete isolation of my main PC from the internet? If this is possible, I would be very interested, so how do I hook everything up so that it all works & what would be the downside of such a set up.
Cheers.

Bargee,

I do not think you can network your monitor, mouse and keyboard as these would be plugged into the back of a tower and only that one tower.

Why not just buy a cheap computer to use for the Internet?

"I could buy a low spec laptop, but this is relatively expensive"?????????????

If you will have both computers close to each other then you could use a KVM switch to use the same Keyboard,Monitor, and Mouse with both computers.

Yeah, I could build a top spec power machine for the price of a bottom range laptop. Relative enough!!!????
