How do I copy a powerpoint slide please?

  Halmer 11:11 12 Nov 05

I am compiling a PP presentation (an older version of PP (97)).

Someone has sent me a series of PP slides within a file and I want to copy one of them into my presentation.

When I open the file I can enjoy his slide show but I have no way of copying the one that I need because there are no buttons or File/Edit etc at the top. If I escape it just closes the presentation.

Can anyone help me please?

if you open powerpoint and then open the file from within powerpoint, it should allow you to see the individual setup.

It sounds like you've been sent a Powerpoint Show (.pps). In Windows Explorer, right click the file and select Rename. Change .pps to .ppt

It's a pps file when I look at the e-mail attachment.

When I save it on my c drive and view it via windows explorer the file extemsion does not show so I cannot change it.

For future reference, to display file extensions in Windows Explorer:

Tools, Folder Options, View tab, untick 'Hide extensions for known file types'.

I had a similsr problem a few weeks ago and managed to copy single slides from a power point display by using "Print Screen".
