Please tell me how to connect my pc to my laptop, so I can backup my stuff to the laptop please.

The pc has an ethernet plughole...it has a symbol of three tiny frames, is that correct? The laptop has the same plughole.

At the moment there is an ethernet cable from the pc to the bt homehub....I have tried plugging this into the laptop but nothing happens...what next please?

You need to connect both the laptop and the PC to the BT home HUB

I assume you already do this.

PC connected by Cable (ethernet)?
and laptop by wireless? for your internet connection on both.

If so you now need to set up a network and file sharing.

Thank you Mr Bat,
That networking looks complicated, but I'll have to have a go at it.
Is it not possible to simply use the laptop like a hard disk...connect to it and save stuff to it?
Thanks.

I use a flash memory. Copy files to it, unplug, plug into laptop and copy files to your location.
On the rare occasion I have a massive file e.g. the files created when making a DVD from a camcorder tape, I use my external disk
As I say, slow but easy - a bit like me really!
As we say here in Greece "Sega Sega" pronounced Sea-gar = "Slowly slowly". Or, as an old freind used to say "Don't rush - ther's the whole of tommorrow not started on yet"

Thanks John....I'll buy myself a flash memory.

Crete sounds nice.

Mike
