A friend installed a new CD/Dvd burner and the drive names/letters seem to be mixed up. Is there a way to change them round. I am new at this game and any help would be appreciated. Norm

If you are running XP Home this is how I did it.
From Start Button select Settings/Control Panel/Peformance & Maintenance/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management.
Then right click on target drive in top right hand frame. 'Properties' should be highlighted. Change drive name and click OK.

In which way are they mixed up?

I have a DVD-ROM drive (Slave) and a CD rewriter (Master). The former is E and the rewriter D.

However, if I install just the one drive it comes up as D, which is to be expected.

But installing both means the DVD-ROM drive reverts to E.

You can change the drive letter via Control Panel>Computer Management(Local)>(tree console)Disk Management but it may be changed back by Windows.

Sorry, missed part of the query. Go through my previous path to Disk Management page. If you right click on any of the drives in bottom right frame you should see an option to change drive letter.
