I had a sytem crash two weeks ago and have just bought an external hard drive. How do I back my system up to the external hard drive and can I get a program that will do this on aregular basis for me?

Acronis True image is excellent - you can make a complete image every (say) month - and in between do a daily, fast, update.

If you wish to do this on the CHEAP there are FREE programs called XXCOPY (click here) for Win 98SE and XXCLONE (click here) for Win XP.
I have used XXCOPY every 10 to 14 days for over two years now for my Win 98SE system and it makes a complete clone of the main hard drive including Registry, System Files, Program files and data.
In case of any failure the backed-up copy is simply cloned back to the main drive.
